The truth is a principle which is foundational, not just to the Christian life, but to life itself. It has changed my life and can change yours and radically transform you. There is no greater agent of change than the word of God and this is a thread that runs through the pages of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. If you have a revelation of this, you can never be the same again. It will change the way you talk such that you can talk more effectively.
The Bible is not just another good book. It is a manual of instructions and not a magic piece. Much like the manual that accomplishes electronic equipments, the Bible is a manual for living. It helps us to know the modus operandi of life. That is why we do not just proclaim the word of God, though it should be proclaimed, but we also teach it so that the people can understand the principles. It would be your own fault if you do not understand the principles.

Sometime ago I bought a computer. I thought it was quite cute, but like the average person, I do not like to read manuals. I felt it was just another computer, so I tried to switch it on by pressing the ON button. It would come on and then go off. After a number of failed attempts, I gave up. Even though I bought it in England, I began to think there was something wrong with it. After a few days, it occurred to me to check the manual, so I did. The instruction said the button had to be pressed for 0.01 second.
This was different from what I was used to, but when I followed the instruction, it came on. I had thought the computer was wrong, but later discovered that I was the one that was wrong. Interestingly, that is the way the Bible is. It has rules and principles which reveals the righteousness of God, as well as His love and mercy. But there is a proviso and a condition to which it operates. The Bible says we should seek first the righteousness. The word righteousness refers to God’s ways of doing things.
God did not make robots. He made man to be a free moral agent. He is free to make choices and free to change his wants particularly with our words. We are the only creatures of God that can talk. Every other creature makes sound. Birds can even sing, but man is the only one who has the capacity and capability to talk and to communicate with words. However, that freedom and special grace that God has given man has responsibilities which we may take lightly so long we do not understand it.

Many situations that we find ourselves are a product of what we said, what we are saying or how we are saying them. What you say is just as important as how you say it. The reason certain things do not change in our lives is because we do not understand that the way we are going about it does not work. There is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof is the way of death. Most people usually try to say good things, but it is not enough to say something good.
You must say what is right, and this has been the undoing of many people. Sometime ago, I was discussing with a retired army officer, and we were talking about coups. Then he said something I have not been able to forget. He said before a man can kill another man, he would have mentioned it, to at least, one person. He said no one can kill without sharing it with somebody. Everything in life is controlled by what you say.
The coinage and currency of exchange in the spirit is words. Words determine the destiny of everything. That is why Jesus is called the Word of God. Everything in the world is controlled by somebody saying it. Somebody somewhere somehow will have to say it before it can happen. People don’t just do things. Something will make them do what somebody has said somewhere somehow along life’s pathway. That is very true because before anything can happen in your life, you will have to say it.
