The Secret Place 8

The word of God is bound to profit us. It should be approached with meekness to find it useful. In these days of our lives, evil does not exempt anyone. The only security against these ills and heartrending tragedies taking its toll on humanity is the Secret Place [Christ Jesus]. Your greatest safeguard is to be a Christian [truly born again]. If any man is in Christ, then he should live in obedience to the authority figure of Christ in the church. This is true meekness [total submission to the authority and authority figure of Christ]. The Christian life is not a walk in the park. It is a warfare. There is a warfare over your life.

STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF GOD

Every Christian should be seen standing. There is something to stand on which is the promises of God. Ask yourself: on what promise are my standing? Some stand on their family background; others on their credentials, job and connections. God works by His word. The word of God is called an anchor for the soul. The soul needs this anchor because it is the battle ground of life’s battles.

1Tim 1:18 This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;

INITIAL COMMENTS ON THE PROMISES OF GOD

  1. Remember this all the days of your life that there is a good promise over your life which you should discover, stand on and live by. God has spoken over your life and it supersedes whatever confession or declaration people say over you. Because God has created you, He has the final say over your life. Jer 8:11, Job 8:7
  2. There is a need to stand on it. God’s word is not magic; you need to stand or act on it to make it work.
  3. If you have fallen you can still stand.
  4. If you have an unmet need stand therefore. You need to stand so you won’t fall. Everyone with an unmet need has several counselors.
  5. Majority of people are unstable and run helter-skelter, while very few stand. If you are fearful, you will scamper everywhere for help.
  6. Usually, standing is a lonely work. It is a personal duty. You have to stand for yourself. Standing is a posture you take in your mind. Nobody can actually stand by and for himself. Psa 112:5-8.

Nothing shakes the heart like evil tidings. The heart is heavily troubled upon the delivery of an evil or bad news. A man standing upon the promise of God has an established heart.

Heb 13:9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

There are certain things that cannot establish the heart. They do not provide bearing for the firmness of the heart no matter their number or quantity. These are what the bible referred to as ‘meat’. These ‘meat’ that do not establish the heart are:

  1. Knowledge of this world. Eccl 1:18 For in much wisdom is much grief; and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.
  2. Money. Pro 18:11The rich think their wealth protects them; they imagine themselves safe behind it.
  3. People [people connection]. Psa 146:3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
  4. Age. It is just a function of numbers.
  5. Sex and every other bad habits.
  6. Fear and worry.

The only posture that counts when standing is on the word of God alone. When things are tough, what you need that can keep you standing and going is the word of God.

HOW TO STAND

  1. On what do you stand? Stand on the revelation; that is, the reveled word of God. Don’t just speak the written word; rather speak the revealed word. Only the revealed word can establish God in your heart. Revelation means what God is saying about your case now. Hos 4:6.
  2. How do you stand? Stand in faith. 1 Cor 2:5, 2 Cor 1:24.
  3. Who do you stand with? With God. Eph 6:14.
  4. How do you stand? By putting on the whole armour of God. The proper way to dress is in full military regalia. Anything otherwise is dressing like a civilian. The civilian dress code is fear, worry, doubt, dismay and distress. Jesus is the only one that can make fear afraid. Rom 13:14.
  5. Stand on the faith of the word of God. Be resolute like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, even if God does not deliver me, I will keep on standing. If you don’t stand firm on God’s word, you will be running everywhere all of your life.
  6. Standing takes strength. There is no excuse for being weak. Strength is based on knowledge. What you know will be called to question. At times like that, you need to be strong. The required strength to stand is in the word. Starve your fear, feed your soul. The most precious part of you is your soul–feed it with the word of God only; other input into your soul will famish it. You must be resolute to stand.
  7. You must be patient. Patience is not doing nothing; it is a force to be cultivated. He has promised and will never fail. Stand on the word and find other things you are looking for there.

CONCLUSION

Fight for the land of promise. Fight for your finances, fight for your health. Fight for your family. The word only gives the confidence that you can become what the Father promised you. So, stand firm and unshakeable on it. The word of God is the promise of your life, stand on it. Trust him that He is the one speaking. He will never fail you.

Stand on the inerrant word of God. The same word of God that is to the rich is also to the poor, the young and old, the palace and the ghetto. Before you speak to anybody, ask what the word is saying and put your life on it. A revelation is very important. The word of God is the promise for your life; stand on it.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

If my God cannot save me nothing else can.

CONFESSION

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isa 55:11

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Num 23:19

God bless you.

A sickness free life

There is a revelation in Romans 8:11 that God used to liberate me from the grip of sickness. The drug that was given to me during the time of my sickness has the tendency to go to the wrong places, leaving the places with problems, and it will go on to the places without problems.

Look unto Jesus

There is always the tendency for us to get distracted in life. Our eyes will go off course when we are distracted and we lose focus. The Christian life is a walk with Jesus as our focus but the cares of this life and deceitfulness of riches makes us take our eyes off Jesus. We
