Jesus already warned us of the events that are happening to us and the world around us. Also He made us understand that the end times will be evil times and we are close to it and if we must carefully observe it, it is true.
The rate at which people die is really alarming and this brings fear around us but you should note that God is faithful and just. Every act of God’s mercy cannot be an act of providence alone. God is the Judge of the whole earth.
News of trouble that we cannot change offers us an opportunity to set boundaries for our concerns. As we trust God, commit our ways to Him, and rest in Him, our outlook brightens. The struggles and trials may not disappear, but we will discover that He gives us His peace in the midst of them.
Believers are beneficiaries of God’s mercy and whatever God does is always in line with His promise. Were it not to be so, God will be a temperamental despot. So when people around us perish, get sacked from jobs, or have bad experiences, remember God has been good to you.
Not every evil is evil for us, because most of the time, it will work out for our good and for the praise of God. On the other hand, we are quick to ask questions when evil happen to good people. But we don’t know the private lives of many people, we only see their public life.
Every believer has the investments of God inside them and God is committed to keep His investments in us. We have His Holy Spirit in us. You are His personal property hence everywhere you go, He is committed to keep you safe.
In Psalm 34, David explained it like this: “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry” (Ps 34:15). God is everything that represents protection to you in every situation. God is not only our Father i.e. our Source, He is our Defender, Fortress, Hiding place, Stronghold and Shield.
