God’s Word in Your Foundation

Luke 11:27-28, “And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.”

This was Jesus’ definition of who is blessed – he that keeps the word of God in his heart; he that has the right attitude towards the word of God; he that chooses to respond and respect the word of God. The quality of life you live is determined by the quality of the word of God that is in your heart.

Many who profess to be born again and speak in tongues do not read the word of God because they do not realize it is their life. Until you understand that the word of God is your life, you will not take it seriously like the same way you take your work or education or physical food.

God upholds the universe by His word and power. The ability to accomplish the purpose of God is tied to His word. The foundation of the Christian faith is in the word of God. 1 Corinthians 3:11 tells us that there is no other foundation apart from Jesus Christ and if you are going to be a wise man, you must dig deep and build on this foundation.

Jesus narrated a parable in Matthew 7:24-27, which was about two men who built their houses, one on a rock and the other on sand. When the storms came, only the house built on the rock was left standing. Many of our ‘houses’ are not well built, no wonder our foundation are falling.

The word of God is your foundation and whatever you are going to build in life must be anchored on it. It is your life. It is your nourishment. It is your food. It is your strength. Do not try to live without the word of God because you cannot survive without it. You will succeed and do well in life once you begin to find out what God’s word says about you. Give it its proper place in your life and success will be yours, in Jesus name!

A sickness free life

There is a revelation in Romans 8:11 that God used to liberate me from the grip of sickness. The drug that was given to me during the time of my sickness has the tendency to go to the wrong places, leaving the places with problems, and it will go on to the places without problems.

There is always the tendency for us to get distracted in life. Our eyes will go off course when we are distracted and we lose focus. The Christian life is a walk with Jesus as our focus but the cares of this life and deceitfulness of riches makes us take our eyes off Jesus. We
