July 15 Days Fasting & Praying

It is time to fast and pray. Fasting is a spiritual exercise commissioned by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Though, it is dated back to the Old Testament era, Jesus in His words, commissioned us the New Testament church to fast as He also fasted while on earth.

Mat 4:1-2 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit up into the wilderness, to be tempted by the Devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He was afterwards hungry.

Mat 17:21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.

Prayer and fasting has lots of blessings attached. Some are physical and spiritual; others are medical. It has been proven by medical experts that fasting is a curative measure for some ailments. It enhances abstinence from sins and draws one closer to God. It is also a dietary therapy for shedding excess weight and obesity. Fasting develops spiritual muscles and discernment. It is a keep fit and a spiritual energy drink.

One of our cardinal practices is to embark on a 30-day fasting with prayers a year; usually taken bi-annually, 15 days apiece, in January and July respectively. All the churches under the Word Alive Ministries International, home and abroad, will engage in this esteemed exercise to reconnect those disconnected from the Lord, strengthen the spiritually feeble, refuel and rekindle the upright.

The fast commences July 5 through 19, 2013. We wish all our brethren across the ministry a happy fast.

A sickness free life

There is a revelation in Romans 8:11 that God used to liberate me from the grip of sickness. The drug that was given to me during the time of my sickness has the tendency to go to the wrong places, leaving the places with problems, and it will go on to the places without problems.
