As human beings, we are greatly fascinated with the possession of power, especially supernatural power. Today, many are desperate in their search for power. Sometimes, believers also feel they do not have power and they go looking for it.
But that is because they do not understand how to deploy the power that God has already given to them. As a result, they allow people to make merchandise of them. Jesus told the Pharisees, “Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the Scriptures, neither the power of God.”
What is it that you want God to do for you? What does it take to release God’s power? Hebrews 7:14-17, “For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Judah, of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood. And it is yet far more evident for that after the similitude of Melchizedec there ariseth another priest, who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. For he testifieth thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec.
Every kingdom has a King. To rule and manage the domain, a king must have power. That is the only way the dominion can be maintained. In the same way, power is an important aspect of the Kingdom of God. We cannot talk about God without talking about His power.
For there to be any such thing called, “The Kingdom of God,” God has to have power. We also need power to live the Kingdom life. If you are in the Kingdom, and you want to remain in it, you must have power to do so. A Christian cannot live an effective life if he does not have power.
The power of an endless life is the resurrection power, the power that goes beyond this present life. Jesus says in Matthew 28:18, “All power is given un to me in heaven and in earth.” That means that whatever power God has, has been given to Jesus who then transferred that power to us.
God’s power is not limited to this life. It is an all-encompassing power by which He established all things which He uses to run the universe. It is the ultimate power. 2 Corinthians 4:7, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”
