Preacher: Alex Adegboye | Series: Voice of The Lord | The voice of the Lord is very powerful. If you listen to God, your life will be better as God instructs you on what to do. Your life is what it is today because of the voice you listen to. The whole of the universe was made because of the voice of the Lord. For you to be enlightened you have to hear God from the inside, and whenever you hear God you must obey Him.
I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly (Psalms 85:8 KJV).
God gave us two ears so we can hear Him clearly. Even when we sleep our ears are not closed. This is so that we can hear God at any time. Whoever the devil wants to destroy he will make him not to hear God. When people give you prophecy it must agree with what God is saying to you. You must submit yourself to the word of God. There are people who are God’s people and they are deaf.
Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the Lord’s servant? Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not (Isaiah 42:19-20 KJV).
You should incline your hear to God. Accepting Jesus in your heart is the landing pad for the voice of God. Lives and destinies are destroyed for lack of hearing God. God speaks and it is our responsibility to hear Him.
Initial Thoughts:
To hear God’s voice, you must be still. Isaiah 30:15
You ask God to speak to you with the intent to obey Him. 1 Sam 3:10
Open your mind to God’s life giving thoughts which is the word of God. Lk 24:45
When God open your eyes to something and you obey it, you will surely be blessed for it. The blessings of the Lord are along the path of His instructions. If you see God do anything, or if you want to see God do something in your life, just obey Him. Faith is not based on intellectual knowledge but by hearing the voice of God.
Conclusion:
Ask God to speak to you knowing that you will carry out His instructions. Talk to the Holy Spirit in the inner sanctum of your heart and He will talk to you and give you instructions. It is our responsibility to hear God as our lives, ministries, and destinies depend on it. Find time, make new effort to be in God’s presence. Build your inner life more. “And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth” (Acts 22:14)
