Show Me Your Ways, O Lord!

You have to know the God of the Scriptures before you know the Scriptures of God. If you don’t know the God of the Scriptures, then it is impossible to know God. In relating with God, you have to operate from the background of His goodness.

Many people blame God for the things that happen in the universe; and some even say that there is no God. They wrongly assume that God is the one responsible for the tragedies that happen in life. The truth is that nobody can understand the Scriptures if he or she has no relationship with God. The interpretation of Scriptures is based on relationship.

Psalms 25:4-5, Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

If God does not teach you, you cannot know God and neither can you understand the ways of God. It is important for us to know that when you read the Scriptures you should know exactly what He is saying, particularly on the subject of His goodness. A lot of people read the Bible without understanding it.

You have to know the God of the Scriptures before you know the Scriptures of God. If you don’t know the God of the Scriptures, then it is impossible to know God. The Bible is a book of revelations and insights that are based on your knowledge of the One that gave us the Bible. If you do not know the Scriptures, you cannot know His ways.

Even as a human being, if you do not know me, you cannot know my way. If I say some things, you would interpret it based on who you think that I am, rather than who I really am. It is the same with God. If you do not know God, you cannot understand the things that He says. Hence, in relating with God, you have to operate from the background of His goodness.

If you are conscious of evil, you would reflect evil. However, if you are conscious of a good God, you would reflect His goodness. We tend to interpret God based on the world in which we live. We should not see God for what we want Him to be; rather we should see God for who He really is. And when you really really see God, then you would know that the Lord is good and He does good things. Psalms 119:68, You are good, and do good; teach me thy statutes.

A sickness free life

There is a revelation in Romans 8:11 that God used to liberate me from the grip of sickness. The drug that was given to me during the time of my sickness has the tendency to go to the wrong places, leaving the places with problems, and it will go on to the places without problems.

Look unto Jesus

There is always the tendency for us to get distracted in life. Our eyes will go off course when we are distracted and we lose focus. The Christian life is a walk with Jesus as our focus but the cares of this life and deceitfulness of riches makes us take our eyes off Jesus. We
