The Price of Disobedience

God will not share the captaincy of your life with you. He is either the captain or He is not. Partial obedience is actually rebellion/disobedience.

The demands of God are very high and lofty, and sometimes, it could bring discomfort and inconvenience. If everyone finds a quick dubious way of making progress and you refuse, sometimes it could cost you your job. It could cost you your friends. It could cost you so much money. It has cost me a lot of money before.

We have to refuse to follow the course of the world, yet it seems to be unnatural to flee from such because it is like suffering. Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, who is our utmost example, embodied the lifestyle of obedience till the end of his life. When you look at the life of Jesus you see obedience practicalised by a human being. You see obedience in a way and manner that you cannot see in Adam and Eve.

You will see obedience in a way you cannot see in Satan who was created an angel of God, but who through rebellion fell. Adam was told not to eat the fruit and he ate the fruit. That was all it took and that act of disobedience got us all into trouble today. That is to show you how crucial obedience could be because it goes on to affect many generations.

Jesus was obedient every step of the way, and so when you come into Him, we can partake of the life of obedience through our position in Christ so that we have the strength to be obedient to God. Every one of us is capable of disobedience. Everyone of us is capable of rebellion/disobedience but Christ can give us the strength if we dwell in Him.

If we remain committed to Him; if we keep loving Him; we will open up ourselves to a life of power of obedience even when it hurts. To live a life of obedience, there is the need for spiritual maintenance. After giving their lives to Christ, a lot of Christians soon get used to God, and they will begin to take Him for granted and disobey Him.

You should work hard to maintain your spiritual life thereby maintaining your place in The Secret Place. Spiritual maintenance involves listening to the Word of God so that it takes root in your spirit and the Word which you have received will not get choked with the cares of this world. If you are a true Christian and you disobey God, you will immediately know it, but you must repent.

For some people, there comes a time that they don’t feel it anymore, yet they think they are in Christ while as a matter of fact; they are already out of The Secret Place. It is important for us to know that there is the need for us to prevent our hearts from being rebellious. Partial obedience is actually rebellion. The first rebellion in heaven was staged by Satan and he was sent out of heaven. God will not share the captaincy of your life with you. He is either the captain or He is not.

Psalm 68:6, “God setteth the solitary in families; He bringeth out those which are bound with chains, but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.”

A sickness free life

There is a revelation in Romans 8:11 that God used to liberate me from the grip of sickness. The drug that was given to me during the time of my sickness has the tendency to go to the wrong places, leaving the places with problems, and it will go on to the places without problems.

There is always the tendency for us to get distracted in life. Our eyes will go off course when we are distracted and we lose focus. The Christian life is a walk with Jesus as our focus but the cares of this life and deceitfulness of riches makes us take our eyes off Jesus. We
