The Refiner’s Fire: Deliver Me From Presumptuous And Secret Sins

EXHORTATION

Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

The platform of prayer puts you in God’s workshop, giving God an opportunity to mould you using the ministry of the word and the Holy Spirit as tools to shape you into His image. Every man or woman who has found use in God’s hands were those who allowed God to make them in the privacy of His workshop, also called the secret place of the Most High.

You must be convinced that what prayer accomplishes in your inner self is more than what it does outside of you, the benefits of being in the presence of God is beyond earthly benefits as we could easily observe from the prayer life of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Heb 5:7)

Ex 20:20: Moses said to the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that His fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not

God asked the people to draw near to Him in order for Him to prove them. The word prove is the same word used by the refiner or blacksmith to refine gold in the fire until its purified. Mal 3:3 He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver; and He shall purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. Then shall the offering of Judah be pleasant unto the Lord…

In other words, until the refiner works on Judah, their offerings would not be pleasant unto the Lord.

There are many areas in our lives that God proves or touches with His fire to melt it and we will touch on each one for the next few days; asking the Lord to refine us, to cleanse us so that our lives truly reflect His image. Five areas we will ask the Lord to touch and to pass through the refiner’s fire are Our personal desires; Our self-pride;Our motives; Secret sins; Our yieldedness/consecration. We have already touched on the first three on the list.

Today, we will ask the Lord to deliver us from presumptuous and secret sins. From sinful habits that seem to have gained control over us and we cannot seem to help ourselves.

Our prayers will echo the prayer of David as he prayed in Psalm 19: 12-13 Who can understand his errors? Cleanse thou me from secret faults. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

Presumptuous sins are deliberate or wilful sins, may the Lord deliver us from the weakness of our flesh which makes us vulnerable to its dictates. Lord, cleanse me from secret faults, keep me from wilful sins so that it will not have dominion over me.

PRAYER: THE REFINERS FIRE: CLEANSE ME FROM SECRET FAULTS AND PRESUMPTUOUS SINS

Make the prayer below in your understanding and then proceed to pray in the Holy Ghost:

My dear heavenly Father,
I humble myself under your mighty hand as I present myself to you as the potter
To make me and mold me into what you desire

I present myself to you as the purifier of gold and silver to purge me as gold so that my offerings will be acceptable unto you
I surrender myself to the refiner to refine me in the fire
So that all impurities in my life will be removed

Dear Lord, cleanse me and purge me from secret faults
Secret sins in my life that I have kept away from everyone and I’m beginning to be comfortable with them
The secret faults that no one else sees but you, Oh Lord,

Cleanse me from every secret fault, hidden weaknesses, and hidden sinful habits
Keep me back also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me:
Then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

Keep me and deliver me from willful sins
Deliver me from willful disobedience to the gentle voice of the Holy Spirit
The natural man is not subject to the law of God and many times, I yield to my fleshly desires and do not want to obey you
Lord, help me and deliver me from my lustful desires which is still present in my flesh

As I continue in prayer,
I surrender to the gentle working of the Holy Spirit in me
To mortify the deeds of the flesh
So I will live a sanctified life
And bring pleasure unto God all my days in Jesus’ name.

Sit upon me and touch the little sins that take me away from you
I yield myself fully to you Lord
I give my life to you, take me Lord and use me for your glory alone
As I stay in the presence of God, Holy Spirit, give me utterance to pray as I ought

Let the work begin right now in my spirit, soul and my body in Jesus name

VERSE OF THE DAY: Rom 8:13 (AMPC) For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever.

A sickness free life

There is a revelation in Romans 8:11 that God used to liberate me from the grip of sickness. The drug that was given to me during the time of my sickness has the tendency to go to the wrong places, leaving the places with problems, and it will go on to the places without problems.

There is always the tendency for us to get distracted in life. Our eyes will go off course when we are distracted and we lose focus. The Christian life is a walk with Jesus as our focus but the cares of this life and deceitfulness of riches makes us take our eyes off Jesus. We
