Exhortation
Ps 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
Isaiah 40: 29-31 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
There’s something about waiting upon the Lord that produces strength and courage to your soul. The Psalmist discovered the secret of supernatural strength that is divine in nature was waiting upon the Lord.
Listen to him, God will strengthen your heart when you wait upon Him. Are you weak or weary? Are you faint or weary?
Scripture says even the youths shall faint and be weary, everyone gets weary, everyone faints. It’s a natural p-phenomenon to faint and be weary. This is because the human race is mortal, which means it tends towards death daily. We are not immortal like God, therefore, naturally, we will get tired, we will faint, except of course we receive divine help. How does this divine help come from that will enable a man to walk and not be weary and run and not to faint?
The prophet tells us the secret, waiting upon the Lord. When we wait, God renews our strength. The word renew means an exchange takes place. God exchanges our frailty and weaknesses for His own strength and since He is never weary, He transmutes that ability into our souls as we wait.
Therefore, we can walk and not be weary just like Him. There is an exchange of our inadequacies and inabilities for His abilities and awesome abilities.
The result is that this divine strength carries you to a whole different realm where you begin to fly like an eagle who flies in spite of the storm, goes above it until it’s actually above the storm unto a place of rest. There’s rest and peace above the storm and that’s what waiting on the Lord will do. It will lift you unto the realm of glory where you will be strengthened.
He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love. His tracks take me to an oasis of peace, the quiet brook of bliss. That’s where he restores and revives my life.
Ps 23:2-3 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Today, we will wait upon the Lord. There’s no prayer point. We will be praying quietly in other tongues as we wait, speaking in other tongues is a good way to wait upon the Lord. This is the refreshing….
PRAYER: WAITING UPON THE LORD
Say the words of the prayer below and then pray quietly in other tongues as you wait upon the Lord:
My dear heavenly father
I thank You for Your Word which is alive
I wait upon You this morning and I ask that You will strengthen my heart just as You have promised
As I wait upon the Lord in prayers today
I receive renewed strength
You give power to the faint and to them that have no might you increase strength
Lord, I am faint and weary
Give me power and increase my strength today
As I wait upon You
Lord, let there be an exchange of my weaknesses and frailties for your divine strength
Divine strength that will cause me to walk and not be weary
That will enable me to run and not to faint
I receive divine strength to mount up with wings as the eagle
I will rise up higher against the currents of the storm
And I enter into a place of rest as I soar into the realm of glory
I surrender to the Holy Spirit to help me to wait upon the Lord in the place of prayer
I look up to God in expectation
And I receive renewed strength right now in Jesus’ name.
