These are trying times and difficult days around the world. In every sense, things are really tough financially, socially and economically. A lot of people have serious issues such that have never been known before. But our God has provided solution to the myriads of problems we may be facing in our societies.
God is not about to provide solutions to these issues, He already did. The challenge is that people do not know how to get the attention of God on their situations. A lot of people are gripped by fear in different forms. Many people have fear of the future and fear of the unknown, but what most people do to salvage their situation is that they turn to self-help or self-management tactics.
Actually, it was already made clear by Jesus Christ that things are really going to be tough in the last days. The heart of many people will fail them for fear. But what can be done to forestall these problems? All that we need in this life have been provided by God. No matter the depth or height of the problem, the solution has been provided in the word of God.
Luke 8:22-25, “But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. And he said unto them, Where is your faith? and they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.”
The kind of prayer that most people pray is like those of the disciples in the above text. They said they were going to perish and that was why they called on the Master. Notice that it was supposed to be another day but, all of a sudden, they met with storm. A day that was going on normally turned out to be an abnormal one without any notice. Storms come to our lives without an announcement.
Jesus Christ rebuked them and asked, “Where is your faith?” Jesus Christ expected their faith to take them through. It is with faith that we receive from God. Self-help strategies of man are bound to fail. The truth is, man ought to go back to God and stop all these humanistic Christianity that is based on the knowledge and wisdom of men. When you invite God into your situation, you invite the supernatural.
