Giving And Receiving

A construction supervisor from the 27th floor of a building was calling and shouting out the name of his worker on the ground floor. The noise on the site was so much that the worker did not hear the shouts from the top floor.

To draw the attention of the worker, the supervisor threw a dollar bill in front of the worker. The worker picked up the note, put it in his pocket and continued to face his work. Again, to draw the attention of the worker, the Supervisor threw down a hundred dollar note and the worker reacted quickly this time, picked it up and stuffed it in his pocket.

Thinking of what to do next, the supervisor picked a small stone and aimed it at the worker. The stone smashed the worker on the head. This time around the worker looked up in an attempt to catch the culprit. Finally, the supervisor was thrilled as he was now able to communicate with him.

As it is, God wants to communicate with us but we are usually too busy doing our daily jobs. Then, He gives us token gifts as well as remarkable gifts as He seeks to get our attention. All we ever do as humans is to readily look up to receive them. We are quick to feign innocence. We keep on enjoying the gifts without actually acknowledging God – the giver of every good and perfect gift.

However, when we are hit with a small stone in form of PROBLEMS, then we are fast to remember and reckon with God. That is when we look up to pray and communicate with Him. God gives and forgives but humans gets and forgets. Change your attitude and don’t wait to get hit by a stone before you consistently relate to God. Make it a lifestyle to always be thankful!

A sickness free life

There is a revelation in Romans 8:11 that God used to liberate me from the grip of sickness. The drug that was given to me during the time of my sickness has the tendency to go to the wrong places, leaving the places with problems, and it will go on to the places without problems.

There is always the tendency for us to get distracted in life. Our eyes will go off course when we are distracted and we lose focus. The Christian life is a walk with Jesus as our focus but the cares of this life and deceitfulness of riches makes us take our eyes off Jesus. We
