Preacher: Alex Adegboye | Series: There’s Another In The Fire | We find ourselves in trouble many times. But whenever we are in trouble we must remember that we are not alone and we must live in the consciousness of that fact.
Job 14:1. “Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.”
We will need someone who will always be there at all times. There is a friend that sticks closer than a brother; that friend is Jesus. It is only Jesus Christ that can do for you what no man can do.
When you have difficulty, you are most likely going to be alone. But if you are a committed Christian, you are not alone because God is with you in that difficulty. Fire refers to trials and turmoils in your life, but the coming of Jesus into your life is the ultimate solution.
When you find yourself in fire, remember these thoughts:
Your problem is common to man. 1 Corinthians 10:13.
The problem will come to pass because it has a life span and you will outlast it.
You are made for battle and you are more than a conqueror.
Always remember that Jesus is with you in the fire and you must bring this to your consciousness. No one is exempted from adversity. However, you must refuse to fear because God is with you in the fire.
Psalm 23:4. “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me”.
In Exodus 3, Moses saw that the bush burnt with fire but the bush was not consumed. As such, it was when Moses turned to see the bush that the Lord called out to him. The bush represents people of God and the fire represent trials.
The bush is burning but the bush is not consumed because God is present in the bush. God’s presence is with us in our trials. We need to be conscious of the fact that God is alive and present in His church in real time.
What fire does:
It gives you grace. James 4:6
It teaches you how to be more than a conqueror and also teaches you life lessons. Psalm 144:1
It changes you. 1 Pet 1:7.
Christians are in great danger of losing God if all they come to do in church is to find solution to their problems. But we have to realize that life is more than that. Beyond your problems, you must seek to know God and if you do, it will be easy for you to trust Him. Strong faith in God happens when you know your God.
