Waiting Upon the Lord: God Embraces Me – Day 23

God’s waiting room is for people who want the will of the Lord. If your desire is the will of God and not your own will, wait upon the Lord today.

EXHORTATION

Waiting upon the Lord is a powerful exercise according to Isaiah 40:28-31. To those who take the time to wait upon the Lord, He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength and renews strength to mount up with wings like eagles, to shall run and not be weary and to walk and not faint.

What is waiting upon the Lord?

The Hebrew word for wait is ‘qâvâh’ – it literally means to take time, or to linger in His presence and to go to where He is for a gathering – then binding yourself together with Him. Like tying a knot, you wrap yourself around the Lord as He wraps Himself around you until you become totally entwined with Him… You are not waiting like a person waits for a red light to turn green, you are lingering in His presence to intertwine yourself together with Him.

Psalm 25:5 says, ‘Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day. (I intertwine myself with you all day)

The Passion Translation says, ‘Escort me along the way; take me by the hand and teach me. For you are the God of my increasing salvation; I have wrapped my heart into yours!’

The footnotes in The Passion Translation say, ‘The Hebrew word most commonly translated as “wait” (wait upon the Lord) is qavah, which also means “to tie together by twisting” or “to entwine” or “to wrap tightly.” This is a beautiful concept of waiting upon God, not as something passive, but entwining our hearts with Him and His purposes.’

As we take the time in His presence to entwine ourselves together with the Lord, wrapping our minds closely together, wrapping our spirit intimately together with His Spirit and wrapping our hearts tightly together with His heart, we become one with Him – we become one with His wisdom, His ability, His authority, His power, His favor, His faith and His purpose.

God’s waiting room is for people who want the will of the Lord. If your desire is the will of God and not your own will, wait upon the Lord today. Embrace Him, tie yourself tightly around Him as you wait. Waiting binds your heart with His until your heart begins to beat in sync with His own heartbeat.

Another way that I view waiting upon the Lord is positioning yourself for the Lords embrace. The Lord showed me a picture of a loving mother waiting to embrace her son but the child is so busy playing with his friends in the mud and doesn’t respond, just like the prodigal son. When we get so wrapped around in what we are doing for ourselves and don’t wait upon the Lord, we will miss out on the embrace of the Lord. It’s only in waiting that we know that He is God because He pours out His love unto us as we wait and as He embraces us.

Check out the benefits of hugging for a growing child. We can also enjoy these benefits from the Lords embrace. Just a touch from the Lord will bring the much needed change we have longed for. It will bring the answer to the questions in our minds. It will calm the raging seas and bring glory to the Lord. The Lord will then truly be exalted in the earth through your life. One man who has been touched by God can change the world!

Benefits of hugging kids (copied from https://momlovesbest.com/benefits-of-hugging-kids)

1. Hugs Make Our Kids Smarter. A long-term study of children in Romanian orphanages showed that the children received only as much physical contact as was needed to take care of their basic needs. They did not receive any hugs at all. As they grew, these children displayed significant developmental delays. And, not only that, these children did not appear to make cognitive gains when they were placed with adoptive parents. All the loving hugs in the world at this later stage were not enough to reverse the developmental delays seen in the kids who were not hugged.

PRAYER

SRIPTURE READING: Ps 25:3-5.Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

Say the words of this prayer out loud and then proceed to pray in the Holy Ghost, to worship Him and to wait in silence before Him:

My dear heavenly Father, unto You alone do I lift up my soul
Teach me Your ways as I wait upon You today; show me Your paths
Lead me Oh lord in Your truth and teach me

For You alone are the God of my salvation; And on You I wait all the day
Escort me along the way; take me by the hand and teach me. For You are the God of my increasing salvation;

Lord, wrap yourself tightly around me while I wrap myself around You,
Impart Yourself to me as I drink from Your essence, bind Yourself to every part of my being as I bind myself to You,

Let us become joined together in one purpose
I wait upon the Lord as I tarry in His presence today

I choose to wait in Gods waiting room
I choose to wait in expectation before the Lord

As I wait upon the Lord, He embraces me tightly, and I wrap myself around Him
I am wrapped up in His love and goodness
I am surrounded by His love and guided by His mercy

I wait upon the Lord and I experience His love for me
His embrace covers my weaknesses and my failures

His embrace covers my shame
He lifts up my head as He embraces me

The Lord is my shield and my exceeding great reward
I drink from His love and I am satisfied

Thank You, Lord, for loving me in spite of my many weaknesses and failures
I am grateful that You are not angry with me neither have you condemned me

I cry out Abba Father as I wait before the Lord
And I pour out my love upon Him also as I wait in Jesus’ name.

VERSE OF THE DAY: Luke 15: 20 (AMP) So he got up and came to his [own] father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was moved with pity and tenderness [for him]; and he ran and embraced him and kissed him [fervently].

A sickness free life

There is a revelation in Romans 8:11 that God used to liberate me from the grip of sickness. The drug that was given to me during the time of my sickness has the tendency to go to the wrong places, leaving the places with problems, and it will go on to the places without problems.
